About the Ivanovo State Historical Museum named after D.G. Burylin: The museum, opened in 1914, is based upon the private collection of Dmitry Burylin (1852-1924) – Ivanovo’s merchant and textile manufacturer. His collection of antiques, decorative and fine arts, weapons, textiles, curiosities from all over the world was intended to become the city’s first public museum and was significantly enriched throughout the 20th century.
