About the Botanical Research Institute of Texas: The Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) in Fort Worth, Texas is dedicated to conserving our natural heritage by deepening our knowledge of the plant world and achieving public understanding of the value plants bring to life. BRIT has an herbarium of nearly 1.5 million dried plant specimens and a library of nearly 100,000 botanical publications. These images are taken from the BRIT rare book and art collection of botanical works.
