About the Newseum: The Newseum, a nonprofit museum located in Washington, D.C., consists of seven levels featuring 15 galleries and 15 theaters. The Newseum’s extensive artifact, print news, and photograph collections date from the 13th century BCE to the present day. These collections serve to fulfill the organization’s mission of increasing public understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.
