About the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: The Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign holds one of the largest collections of rare books and manuscripts in the United States, ranging from incunables to twenty-first century fine print. We are also home to the personal papers of such notable creators as Gwendolyn Brooks, H.G. Wells, Marcel Proust, and Carl Sandburg.
