About the University of South Florida Libraries – Tampa Special Collections: For more than 50 years, Special Collections has supported the University of South Florida by encouraging use of primary resources that document the history and culture of both USF and the broader community. With a strong focus on local and regional records, artifacts, and publications, Special Collections is also home to numerous collections of national and international prominence that describe and contextualize diverse experiences from the 1500s to the present day. Collecting areas include Floridiana, Florida Environment and Natural History, LGBTQ+ Collections, and Children’s and Young Adult Literature.
