About the SHSU Special Collections, Newton Gresham Library: The Special Collections department, (also called the Thomason Room), at SHSU houses materials from iconic authors, university alumni, local founders, and early Texas leaders. John W. Thomason is the subject of one of the largest collections housed in Special Collections. Thomas was born in Huntsville, Texas, and was a teacher, school principal, Marine Corps officer, author, and artist. We’ve selected some of his sketches and artwork for this coloring book.
